What is Kerfed Lining? Kerfing (or Kerfed lining) provides a gluing surface for the joining of the backs, tops, and sides. Some builders use it with the kerfing facing out, so the kerfs are visible, and others glue the kerfed face to the inside hiding the kerfs. Some builders choose the same type of wood as the soundboard for the kerfing along the top and sides. Many woods can be used for kerfed linings, but since we are trying to reduce excess weight in our instruments it makes sense to use something light. In our case our kerfed are made with spruce. The reverse style (or round corner)can add more stiffness to the sides, and a smoother appearance inside the body. 4 Units. Enought for making an Acoustic/Classical guitar. Dimentions: 740mm x 19mm x 5mm.
