It’s time to ditch the flex stem and undamped leaf springs; suspending the bike greatly improves rider experience, increases control, takes the edge off extended gravel rides and dramatically expands the terrain you can cover. Developed in conjunction with emergent gravel bike designs, the 32 Taper-Cast features a sleek drop crown profile and new knob shapes that drastically improve downtube clearance, for fitment on all frame sizes and styles. A sleek, reverse arch design further improves fitment, decreases frontal area for better aerodynamics and provides stiffness through the arch matrix design. The lightest fork FOX has ever designed and fabricated, the incredible 1226g weight retains functionality such as integrated fender mounts, 160mm and 180mm flat mount compatibility. The fork also features our lightweight Kabolt thru axle, and a longer steerer to allow for greater fitment options on gravel frames. Equipped with FOX’s proven GRIP damper options, this lightweight package retains all the tunability of its mountain lineage, including adjustable travel options up to 50mm. The lightweight, short-travel optimized air spring requires fewer, if any, volume spacers and the design employs our lower leg air/oil bypass channels. Performance Series forks retain the same black anodized 7000 series aluminum upper tubes as Performance Elite, except paired with a GRIP damper. GRIP allows excess oil to purge through specially designed ports at the top of the damper to maintain consistent damping and increase durability. Performance Series forks provide Open, Medium, and Firm modes with additional micro-adjust between settings. FLOAT Airspring The FLOAT air spring system developed for 32, 34 and 40 is lighter and reduces the force to initiate travel, providing excellent sensitivity and small bump compliance for all riders and pressure settings. Similar to our FLOAT rear shocks, the new FLOAT system features positive and negative air springs that automatically equalize during use to give each rider the right pressure balance. The progressiveness of the spring curve can be adjusted via air volume spacers, allowing riders to fine-tune the feel of the air spring. EVOL A more linear spring curve gives EVOL forks and shocks plushness off the top, extra mid-stroke support, and more tunable bottom-out progression, allowing riders to tap into the ideal pairing of front and rear-end feel. The EVOL technology from rear shocks is now integrated into all FOX forks. EVOL increases negative air spring volume, specifically positioned and sized for optimum small bump sensitivity.
